Who we are:

It is our vision to create a program that exceeds the expectations of patients we care for. Due to the fact that we are owned and operated by our own clinical team, we bring you a premium level of care at a fraction of the price you would see in an outpatient hospital setting. Patients in our care will notice a large difference in the level of quality of education and psychotherapy, as well as the intensity of our rehabilitation process. We believe that people who come to us are not only looking for rehabilitation, they are looking for new ways to enjoy relationships and improve their overall quality of life. We do not define therapy as a passive process, but an “active” process which involves the participation of not only the individual, but also skilled providers. Our clinical team has worked in direct care for behavioral health programs all over Orange County and Los Angeles and utilize their vast clinical experience to bring you treatment that yield results.  Our desire is to provide a level of treatment that far exceeds the industry standard and assists you fully through recovery and beyond.

Real Choices:

At Choices, we place our patients in the driver's seat when it comes to treatment. With assistance from our staff, participants get to choose not only the times that work for their own schedule, but most of all, they get to decide which groups yield the best personal results. We have a variety of different groups to meet our patients' needs throughout the week; educational, psychotherapy, multi-family groups, and aftercare. We feel that having a collaborative approach with our patients will help them to be more motivated and engaged in their recovery.

Another key component to our treatment strategy is we do not have standard limitations on a person's length of treatment. Most insurance companies will place restrictions on a patient's treatment.  Since this is a low cost behavioral program, we work together with our patients to continually evaluate each individual's needs and duration of treatment. This means that the consumers attending our program can slowly transition out at a time they feel confident and are not limited by the coverage of their insurance plan. The process allows for complete rehabilitation and optimal individual success.

Who we serve:

Our Community: Individuals who seek treatment in our program are currently experiencing a dissatisfaction, or an overwhelming frustration with their own life circumstance. In clinical terms this can be due to anxiety, depression, PTSD, or difficulty adjusting to life’s unpredictable circumstances. Choices behavioral program is offered to anyone who is in need of intensive services beyond individual therapy, or does not require or no longer requires psychiatric hospitalization. Treatment is necessary when individuals begin experiencing a significant deterioration or impairment at work, with relationships (family/friends), lack of enjoyment with hobbies, sleep disturbance or a lack of self care.

We are so passionate about recovery that even if you do not decide to use our program, we want you to have our Clinical Guide to Recovery as our free gift to you. It will help you begin the journey towards recovery. We hope that you will read it and use the tools inside, as it will provide you the first crucial steps towards wellness. We commend you on your strength and willingness to begin this process!

Reno Galassi, LMFT

A licensed clinician since 1985, the span of my practice has included private and institutional scope lending a wide range of experience from initial assessmet and triage, through skill building and problem solving in daily life, to the discovery and development of the independence self. I am continually encouraged in my work by the experience of accompanying my clients on their pathway to possibility and hope when their lives have been affected by situational misfortune, emotional stress and conflict.

If you are new to treatment or are concerned about a loved one or family member and have questions, a confidential assessment session is a  good place to start.  If you are aware of a problem pattern in your life, let's explore that privately and confidentially.

Do you need support with stress management, relational conflict, coping skills, anxiety management, habit control, co-dependency or chemical dependency, grief and loss, acceptance of a new diagnosis, or letting go? Taking some private time to sort through and operationally define the problem is an approach that has proven itself to my clients over the years. It is the first step in clinical problem solving.

 Please Remember:

If you need help, give yourself the permission to get the help you need.

First and foremost, our program is meant to be an adjunct to individual treatment. Choices is a program that is based loosely on the partial hospitalization model, or intensive outpatient treatment. Topics Covered:

  • Life Balance
  • Creating healthy Boundaries
  • Improving Family communication
  • Changing Family Dynamics
  • Learning about Internal and external Triggers
  • Decreasing Emotional Reactivity
  • Self Sabatage
  • Reducing relapse
  • Managing boredom
  • Symptom Management
  • Diagnosis Education
  • Anger Management
  • Stress Management
  • Cognitive Behavioral Skills Training
  • Management of compulsive behaviors

  • Participants choose the groups which are most affective for them in their treatment
  • Frequency, attendence, and length of program are determined by the individual and not insurance companies
  • Concentrated and applicable Treatment
  • Limited group size allows for a more concentrated and affective group process
  • Low Cost allows for affordable treatment for all.

At Choices we strive to provide an atmosphere of hope and change. Our newly updated facilities are located a few miles away from the beautiful coastline of Laguna Beach. We use this relaxing environment to our advantage to help renew those who feel lost in their own struggles. The start of your new life of health and wellness begins here. We welcome you, and look forward to walking along side you on the road to recovery.

Is your teenager struggling with "fitting in", extreme moodiness, keeping up with their homework, following rules, trying risky behaviors, and/or experimenting with drug use? If so these may be signs your child is struggling with anxiety, depression, or another mental illness. We're here to help. We want to prevent your child from making lasting harmful decisions. We provide a safe and welcoming atmosphere led by experts in the field of Adolescent Psychology where you and your child will learn new skills to better understand and cope with your teen's changing emotions.

Choices

When parents/caregivers come to realize their adolescent is suffering from a mental illness, it can be a confusing and vulnerable time for everyone involved. The kids are confused with their own experience and the parents feel ill equipped and limited in their choices of where to turn for help.  Some will turn to individual therapy, but there are times when individual therapy alone may not be enough. When it comes to rapid mood shifts, suicidal ideation, and problematic impulsive behavior, a higher level of care may be required. What this usually means is hospitalization, or partial hospitalization.  Although these treatments can be effective, individuals may be limited by their insurance plans as well as the high cost of treatment through a hospital based program. At Choices, we provide the highest quality mental health rehabilitation services to you at a fraction of the cost. We understand the desire for the best quality care for your loved ones and want to walk along side you during the recovery process.

Honest care for your loved one

Who we are: Choices is completely privately owned and run by psychiatrists and clinicians who have been in the field for decades.

Our highly trained staff understand the stressors and intricacies that adolescents and their families struggle with during this important, and pivotal time in development.

Groups are focused on how to successfully navigate through their struggles with their illness, but also assist them with the everyday stressors of their particular stage of life.

We not only strive to rehabilitate your loved ones, but we are also committed to educating families and having them be an active part of the recovery process. Healing does not only have to be an individual process, but a family process.
